April: Tree Medicine
"Tree medicine is what the Earth is offering us in the seasons when there is no herbaceous growth." ~ Steven Martyn of the Sacred Gardener
Late winter and early spring is the time for pruning and coppicing, and gathering medicinal bark. Many trees of the Eastern Woodlands bioregion are rich in medicinal properties. From the astringent tannins of oak, alder and sumac, to the aromatic resins of the conifers, trees are wonderful allies in supporting our health and vitality.

"The plant species that live for the longest time quite often have the greatest treasury of medicine at their fingertips. These plants are the trees of the global garden." Diana Beresford-Kroeger, The Global Forest

Boxes are offered with sliding scale prices. To learn more about sliding scale pricing, please read this post. But basically, in a nut shell (pun intended!), I invite you to pay one of the reduced fees, if paying the full price would cause you to be less secure in your ability to meet your food, health, housing or essential transport needs. To determine where you fall on the scale when choosing which price to pay, please refer to this infographic created by Alexis J. Cunningfolk (Click image to enlarge).
Please note: As of April 1st, HST will be charged on all products.
